One of my thoughts in the course of my job is that I am usually amazed that anything in computers work. When I say this out loud I usually get strange stares, mostly because I don't think people, even the technically savvy people I work with understand what I am referring to.
Even typing this, or in your case reading this, is built upon so many layers of technology it is hard to comprehend. And the fact that all of these layers work, well, most of the time, is astounding.
Every new advancement, especially in computers, is built upon a previous one. As we keep building layer upon layer, occasionally we do something that triggers a problem, bug in tech-speak, at a layer well below what ever it is you where attempting to do. This tends to make my job maddening at times, because not only can't I figure out what the problem is, even if I did, I would have no way of fixing it.
